Kalsubai trek: Highest peak of Maharashtra
Kalsubai Peak is also known as the Everest of Maharashtra. The height of this trek is 5400 ft. It is mostly famous for its height and adventures. This trek is the total test of endurance. The Kalsubai peak is situated in Western Ghats of Maharashtra and Trek to Kalsubai starts from its base village Bari , which is situated on its eastern side under Igatpuri Taluka, Nashik district. Why it is named Kalsubai Trek? It is said that there was a girl named Kalsubai who helped her villagers and helped animals in their tough times and one day she decided to go for a summit of this trek and never returned. So the villagers named this peak in her memory and made a temple on the village side and as well as on the peak of the mountain.
